<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">The growing importance of soft skills in community pharmacy practice is increasingly recognized in relation to patient safety and
professional well-being. In this context, non-technical competencies such as communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making,
relationship management, motivation, time management, project and quality management, and risk and business continuity management
represent core business skills that enable pharmacists to manage complex practice environments and ensure safe service delivery. Post-
COVID-19 studies highlight the role of soft skills in addressing challenges such as burnout and the “second victim” phenomenon, where
adverse healthcare outcomes trigger anxiety, reduced confidence, and reluctance to adopt innovative practices. These issues often arise from gaps in practice standards, including knowledge, skills, behaviors, environment, qualifications, processes, and experience. Competency-based, tailored educational programs that strengthen these skills can support pharmacists to deliver advanced services, improve patient care quality, and enhance professional satisfaction, while fostering resilient and sustainable pharmacy operations. However, the effectiveness of such programs also depends on organizational culture, as well as individual resilience, professionalism, and an ethical approach to practice.</dim:field>
