Regardless of the immediate vicinity of Valjevo, which is the economic center of this part of Serbia, the gorge has been preserved to the greatest extent from building and other forms of degradation, the fact which in terms of the total landscape features of this conservation area takes a special place. In the very gorge, there are numerous cultural constructions which are within an easy reach and more or less put to serve tourist purposes.
