<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Goal of this paper is to point out the gravity of social dangerousness of the cyber crime, which
represents the union of computer, digital, e-criminal, web criminal, criminal that involves the attacks on computer networks, data theft, system attacts, copyright ainfrigement, etc. It is a kind of criminal where the usage of computer technology
and information and communication systems and networks is presented as a manner of committing
a legal offence, or where the computer is used as the means or as a target performance, which causes
some sort of relevant consequences in the criminal context. Unlike the classical criminal types, cyber
crime is characterized by highly expanded area of criminal activities that does not demand the presence of commiters at the places of criminal activities. In most cases, the offender is located in one country, the place of activity is in another country,
whereas the consequences of the criminal activity are notable in third country. Suitable area for
performing the criminal activities of cyber crime are the countries where there is no, or there are a
partial legal regulations regarding the fight against the cyber crime. Out of this reason, the main focus
of this paper will be the countries of the Western Balkans. Following the conceptual definition of
this negative notion, an overview of cyber crime in Republic of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republic of Slovenia and Republic of Croatia is given. After a comparative analysis of cyber crime in the countries of the Western Balkans, this paper points
out the necessity of their organized, systematized and continuous cooperation, and unification and
charmonization of the legal regulations in order to fight more effectively against this type of criminal
which, as the years pass, with the development of the new information and communication technologies takes new forms and appearances.</dim:field>
