                    <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">The proposed multistage multiuser detector for DS-CDMA communication over multipath fading channel consists of a bank of a matched filters and linear equalizer whose outputs are diversity combined to produce initial data estimates. Using these data multiuser interference is removed from the matched filter bank output. Afterward, diversity combining is applied again, and produces final decision statistics. Simulation results indicate that this detector is near–far resistant.</dim:field>
