<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Risk management is a strategy that has so far been implemented
only in financial organizations. Contemporary market conditions that have
particularly affected open corporations call for transparent trading, as a prerequisite
for the efforts to manage more efficiently any kind of resource, and
therefore sport organizations as well. As these organizations increasingly carry
out business dealings according to trading market principles, they begin to
expose themselves to numerous risks in many ways, and therefore there is also
a growth of the necessity to create competent sports managers within the sport
business, who would, if possible, create, implement and evaluate compatible
management strategies for all the occurring risks. The increasing exposure of
sport organizations to the effect of numerous risks has also generated a new
professional field within sports management: risk management and risk control.
Theoretical theses and up-to-date business philosophy have created a basis
for the selective use of risk management strategies, which primarily engage
in realizing the business results, and as an outcome, in financial results in the
sport business.</dim:field>
