Мијаиловић V. Mizdraković Abstract: In modern business conditions, the importance of human capital is becoming increasingly important. Human capital is the most valuable intangible asset of modern companies and the source of their growth and development. The employees are the ones who can contribute to the improvement of business performance with their knowledge, competences, abilities and talent. This has a positive impact on the economic growth of the national economy, and consequently on the regional development. Economic growth ensures the creation of new jobs and the reduction of unemployment, which implies the necessity of investing in education and training of the appropriate profile of employees. Balanced regional development reduces the employees turnover, especially of those highly skilled, qualified and competent, from less developed to more developed regions.
