Cvijanovic T. Gajić Rural tourism is not a developed form of tourism product in Serbia, although there are indeed all the preconditions for its development. The reason for the stagnation of the development of tourism, and all its forms, is the poor political and economic situation that hit the region and Serbia in the nineties of the 20th century. The current theme in all world research is the acceptance of the development of rural tourism by the local population. Reviewing existing literature and research on a given issue, and using secondary documentation and research work, the authors of the paper pointed to the perception of the local population about the development of rural tourism in the municipalities of the North Banat District.
