Kljajić A. Obradović M. Pavićević The accelerated development of the Internet and information technologies has conditioned the emergence of new forms of business. One of the most important types of the application of new technologies is electronic business (eBusiness). The term eBusiness is a general term for the electronic way of doing business. This paper will provide an overview of the development and advantages of using electronic business in today. The importance of the service sector in the Republic of Serbia is also evidenced by data showing the share of various sectors in domestic GDP. The service sector generates over 50% of GDP in Republic of Serbia. The importance of the global service economy, the strengthening of the service sector and the support of infor- mation technologies have conditioned the emergence and development of eServices. Therefore, special attention in this paper will be paid to examples from the field of eServices of the public and private sector of the Republic of Serbia.
