Budimir Ninković In sociological terms, culture is a very complex phenomenon, characterized by a multitude of definitions by which authors interpret personal meanings, experiences, and actions. From this broader, social context, a wealth of cultural diversity was encountered at school. The aim of this paper is to look at the reality of today’s complex, sometimes even contradictory encounter between cultures in the classroom, school. Cultural plural- ism is reflected through diversity in education, which is becoming one of the norns of a free society, with differences between groups being a source of wealth, not a problem to be addressed. In this sense, institutions of education and schools are not only a place for the transfer of knowledge and information, but they are also places for meeting, crossing, confronting, assessing and weighing issues of ethnic origin, religious and religious, and even racial origin. In this paper, the focus is on the intensities of multicultural and intercultural educa- tion, which are expected to foster a dynamic relationship between different cultures, with interaction based on the principles of democracy, emancipation, the examination and debate of members of different ethnic groups.
