<dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">The Military Medical Academy in Belgrade (MMA), as the largest healthcare organization in Serbia and the region, has established and maintained the integrated management system (IMS) and in this way has built in the best world practices in the field of Quality Management System (QMS), Environment Management System (EMS), Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S), Food Safety (FS) and test laboratories operations (LAB). Special significance in designing and establishing of the IMS has been given to organizational and technological capacitation of the MMA for efficient development of new and upgrading of existing services, as an important means for maintaining and improving of the acquired MMA’s reputation. Developing a novel healthcare service is a very complex process which depends on numerous factors, among which there are numerous non-medical factors, such as changes in the manner of rendering healthcare service, availability of resources, expectations of patients and other participants in the healthcare service, technological development, growing importance of electronic communications and data transfering, and similar. The paper considers the main influencing factors and their impact on the adopted service development model efficiency, and the role of the IMS in increasing efficiency in the healthcare services development.</dim:field>
