                    <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Health and Safety protection of personnel working in areas with potentially explosive atmospheres is the most important aspect of safety at work. European Union legislation related to health and safety protection regarding such cases is based on regulations intended for manufacturers (Directive 94/9/EC / ATEX 95) and regulations intended for users (Directive 1999/92/EC – ATEX 137). Both Directives use risk assessment as a tool for resolving the problem of explosion prevention.  Directive ‘ATEX 137’ requires that organizations draw up and implement the documentation of ‘explosion protection’. This documentation must prove that risk assessment has been carried out and all possible risks have been identified and evaluated, and that corresponding protection measures have been implemented. This paper discusses possible benefits from implementing the quality management system in risks management arising from the hazards of explosion by way of proposing the procedures that are necessary, and required by ATEX directives, regarding explosion risks managing</dim:field>
