An additional problem is that the radio and telecommunication terminal equipment is still no general standard which defines principles for the design of this type of equipment with emphasis on assessment and risk reduction. Based on the new standards for risk assessment in the field of machinery, EN ISO 12100, in this paper it is proposed methodology for risk assessment in the use of mobile phones, which is taken as a typical representative of radio and telecommunication terminal equipment. Based on the proposed methodology, the paper presents the research results of the risk assessment that may arise in the use of mobile phones by children. The aim of the research is to define all possible risks in the use of mobile phones and their ranking by using a defined methodology.
