Knežević The tourism industry within the hotel industry in the period of transition and the process of European integration, have become very important for the economy of Serbia. In accordance with that, this paper will analyze macroeconomic indicators and results achieved in tourism of Serbia in the European integration period. The aim of our study was to present that the approaching to the European Union has positive impact on results in international tourism of Serbia on one hand and that is an important contribution to the hotel industry in the economic development of Serbia (as an element of support for European integration), on the other hand.
