                    <dim:field mdschema="dc" element="description" qualifier="abstract">Continuing education, with the distance learning system - DLS as its important part, plays a key role in contemporary economic society development. Our attention during past years was focused on researching diffrerencies in male and female attitudes towards asynchronous learning modes and applying them in the future careers and networks. We did a research during the scholl year of 2012/13 on two groups of students at Faculty of Business, Singidunum University who took courses in Trade and Risk Management. One group consisted of 30 DLS students who were employed while studying. Another group  consisted of 100 students who were not employed. We compared answers of both groups of students, and we paid special attention to possibilities of applying collected knowledge from the courses in the students careers. Our intention was focused on gender issues, in terms of using new techologies in studying by male and female students. 
Students were questioned electronically (online), and were asked to grade the most important issues and outcomes withinin the mentioned courses. The grading system included the following structure: students graded questions and statements with grades 1-5;  1 standed for the least valuable, 5 standed for the most valuable.
The questions and statements were as the following: 
1)	During the course I had an opportunitiny to practice important working skills.
2)	During the course I have learnt about important and useful concepts.
3)	During the course analytical and argumentative thinking was encouraged.
4)	The professor provided us with useful examples and made connection between information from the course with contents of other courses.
5)	My working experience is in consistence with the information and knowledge I have gathered from the course.
Both groups of students payed special attention to the statement number 4 and they were very critical about that. Further investigation, which included interviews with randomly chosen students from both groups, showed that: female students from both groups were very argumentative about statement number 4; male students from both groups were very creative when explainimg grading statement number 5; male „unemployed“ students were persistant to try to connect any working experience that they had ever had; as opposed to that, female „unempleoyed“ students were cautious when chosing the right example for statements 1 and 5. Some of our basic conclusions were the following: both male and female „employed“ and „unemployed“ students showed great interest for taking part in the research; both groups of students showed high interest in criticizing the teaching and learning system they were experiencing; female students from both groups were more argumentative during the interview; female students from both groups were more critical about career and working experience statements and questions; male students were less deliberate when deciding on the answers towards their job experience.</dim:field>
