Turčinović А. Vujko М. Knežević The paper is concerned with the concept of female entrepreneurship in underdeveloped rural areas of Serbia, more specifically Vojvodina. The research was conducted in the area of Gudurica, Izbište, Uljmo and Mesić. The aim of questioning women's association members was to point out the role associations play in advancing female entrepreneurship in the direction of rural tourism. The respondents expressed their opinion on how and in what way associations contribute to their wishes, needs and abilities to start their own business, which will result in better living conditions, development of the destination, and a better quality of life for residents. The research results included the following: women are becoming more entrepreneurial; awareness of women's potential and capacity to survive as independent entrepreneurs are increasing; and the leading idea is that entrepreneurship should grow under the umbrella of rural tourism.
