Brajković The demographic decline in rural areas of Serbia has emerged as a prominent issue that has garnered attention in global research. These rural regions possess valuable natural and cultural heritage, which unfortunately remains underutilized and inadequately promoted as a tourist attraction. Many destinations around the world have successfully transformed their rural areas through tourism, bringing them out of obscurity and revitalizing their economies. It is believed that mass tourism has the potential to halt the population exodus and even facilitate the return of those who have been displaced, leading to the economic rejuvenation of rural areas. In this study, the authors examined the attitudes of local residents towards the representation and impact of tourism on the demographic development of rural areas in Vojvodina.
